Hristo Simeonov
Hristo Simeonov was born in 1985 Targovishte, Bulgaria. His short films are awarded and participated at international festivals like Clermont Ferrand, Palm Sprigs, Tampere, Krakow, Villa do Conde, Sarajevo, Cottbus, Bilbao, Saint Petersburg, Thessaloniki, Montpellier, etc. Hristo is a Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents alumni. He received his MFA in filmmaking from the South-West University "Neofit Rilski". Later, his collaboration with human rights foundations in Bulgaria reslulted in the creation of multiple documentaries and videos with social agendas. In 2017 he co-wrote the feature film Protected Species who took part at Sam Spiegel Film lab. His latest short Nina (2019) an EFA Short Film Candidate, is currently traveling in festivals and winning awards such as Grand Prix Hans Christian Andersen at Odense IFF, Best Short at Sofia IFF and 22 more awards.
