Simon Schares

Simon Schares was born in Wiesbaden in 1994. He first gained access to the internet at the age of 6, as his parents equipped their flat with a DSL router. He was slowly introduced to the World Wide Web, Simon still spent most of his childhood in the analogue world. In 2011, he decided to fully explore the internet and successfully completed this exploration in 2014. This was followed by a degree in "Time-based Media" at Mainz University of Applied Sciences until 2018. 'The Administration of the Internet' is his graduation film. Since 2019, he has now been studying directing documentary film at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and thinks he has built up a healthy distance from the internet in the meantime.
