You can't choose your parents. But do you really need both? Christian and Simone find out about a death threat on their daughter Mia's 18th birthday. To prevent her plan, they attempt to give her an unforgettable birthday, but their efforts are foiled and they end up fighting for survival using each other's wrongdoings. About the director(s)
Ares Ceylan is a Swiss filmmaker with turkish-italian roots. He holds a Bachelors degree in social sciences from the University of Zurich and is currently graduating from the renowened Film Academy Baden- Württemberg. He was honored with several awards for his short films and won the Swiss Television Treatment Award 2020 for his first feature film project. He's based in Basel and Berlin, where he's working as a writer & director.
