Anke Sevenich was born in Frankfurt am Main and studied acting at the State University of Music and Drama in Hanover. Following her studies, she was engaged by the Lower Saxony State Theater in Hanover. In 1987 she left the permanent engagement to play Charlotte in the German feature "Ein Treffen mit Rimbaud". Since then she has worked as an actress for film, television and stage. As a film actress she became known in the role of "Sehnüsschen" in "Die zweite Heimat - Chronik einer Jugend". In front of the camera she worked with directors such as Edgar Reitz, Vadim Glowna, Dominik Graf, Peter Schulze-Rohr, Niki Stein, Christoph Waltz, Lancelot von Naso, Dror Zahavi and Züli Aladag. In 2016, together with author Stephan Falk, she received the German Screenplay Award for Best Unfilmed Screenplay. ,,SAYONARA RÜDESHEIM" which was filmed in 2021, directed by Wolfgang Murnberger. She is currently on stage at Schauspiel Frankfurt. Klabautermann is Sevenich's directorial debut.
