Salem
Salem
Sophie Beaulieu
Sophie Beaulieu was born in 1981, and spent her childhood between Lyon, Paris, London, and New York. She was admitted to the Ecole Normale Superieure, passed the Agregation in English and taught linguistics at La Sorbonne and English in a public school in St Ouen. Then, she wrote a trash and feminist show, and directed three short films she wrote and produced. I didn’t Shoot Jesse James was her produced film. She explored the Western manly myths. Salem denounces the conservative and comfortable values of the French upper class, thanks to a quirky female character. Her universe can be qualified as off-the-wall and subversive humor.
