Lisa Hasenhütl was born 1988 in Graz, Austria. She works as director and director’s assistant. During her school days she studied a year abroad in England, at City of Sunderland College. After she graduated her English and American studies in Graz with a focus on transnational feminism, she moved to Luxemburg and worked at the production company “Amour Fou Luxembourg”. Later, she moved back to Austria to work at “Amour Fou Vienna”. 2014 she received a Fulbright scholarship for her diploma thesis on “Female Empowerment in Persepolis and Mail Order Bride”. Since 2016 she studies directing with a focus on script writing at the Filmacademy Vienna. Since then, she has shot numerous short films and worked on various films of her peers. Her last short films include “VOTE!” (Max Ophüls Preis), “Heart it Races” (Max Ophüls Preis, Diagonale, a.o.) and “Child’s Play”, which won the audience award in the category “Austrian Panorama” of the “Tricky Women Filmfestival 2021”.
