It all began in 2000 – very modestly, but with a lot of passion: the first \u201eLandshut Short Film Days\u201c screened 22 films over two days in front of around 200 guests at the Poschinger Villa. The films were projected using a purring 16mm projector and a squeaking S-VHS recorder – a cinematic adventure in the best sense of the word.<\/p>\n

Today, a quarter of a century later, the \u201eDays\u201c have grown into an international but welcoming festival. Over 4,000 films, endless nights of partying, inspiring exchanges, new collaborations and more than 80,000 guests from all over the world have shaped countless unforgettable moments.<\/p>\n

And in its 25th year, the Landshut Short Film Festival stands for all of this with enthusiasm – more than ever. However, we are celebrating this anniversary not only by looking ahead, but also by taking a journey into the past. We are travelling back to our roots and are recreating the very first festival. The location, the programme, the atmosphere – all restored as authentically as possible.<\/p>\n

Let’s experience a retro-futuristic evening full of analogue charme and the unbroken enthusiasm with which the films got rolling. We have been able to track down around half of the films shown at back then – and they will flicker across the screen once again in the Poschinger Villa. Projected by a purring 16mm projector, of course.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
