Marco, an 18-year-old footballer from the small village, is about to get the chance of his lifetime: a contract with a big club. But while the whole village celebrates his success, Marco's fear of the unknown grows. Between “Schützenfest”-festival celebrations and old friendships, he searches for a way out so that he can stay in his familiar world. ‘quicksand’ tells of the fears of growing up and the question of whether one should stay or let go.
