It is a timeless saying: “Home is not a place, home is a feeling”. But what gives
gives you the feeling of being at home? Is the feeling of home a place of refuge to which we
where we find warmth and security? Or is it the company of loved ones, a moment in which we can be authentic? Especially in times when the term “home” is often mistakenly equated with “patriotism” and even “nationalism”, we need to remember that the feeling of home is both individual and collective and connects us across borders rather than dividing us. Home is not rigid, but dynamic and moves with people because we carry it within us and name it.

In all its facets, “home” remains a source of inspiration that encourages people to become
to become active and creative. Together with the district of Lower Bavaria, we are presenting six
international short films that deal with the theme of “Heimat” in a special and unusual way. The jury of the 24th Landshut Short Film Festival will be present at this special screening. Following the screening, we cordially invite you to an exchange of ideas and a get-together.
