Dear short film fans,

Welcome to the 24th edition of the Landshut Short Film Festival. A diverse program of fascinating, carefully curated short films from many countries awaits us in the next few days. The total of 219 short films that you can experience are diverse, artistically sophisticated and represent different genres.

I am pleased that four FFF-funded productions will be shown in the program this year. The films deal with very personal stories that tell of death, grief and loss in different ways: “Karma is a Hitch” by Oliver Kahl and “Death Code X” by Alexander Löwen are running in the D-A-CH competition, “Obolus” by Kim Fabienne Hertinger in the local round and “Mitera” by Dietrich Pollak in the “Short for Kids” section.

It is particularly important to us to support young filmmakers with their short films. It allows you to develop your own style, try things out, develop creatively and gain a foothold in the industry. They make a significant contribution to Bavaria’s lively film culture. Because the most exciting stories for the audience are created with multi-layered perspectives and different cultural and artistic backgrounds.

Dear guests, take advantage of the opportunity to watch the works in the cinema on the big screen with good sound and to exchange ideas with the filmmakers. Let’s celebrate the fascination of short films!
