Austria, the 1990s: Karin, a 20-year-old Sinology student, visits her father every year, accompanied by her new partner. The family evening ends in passive-aggressive confrontations between Karin and her grandmother, burdened by the father's inner conflicts. Karin's boyfriend feels alienated in this family chaos.
"Thai Basil" tells the story of family traumas that burden and haunt the fabric of generations like ghosts sitting at the table.
