Dear friends of short film,

For a quarter of a century, the Landshut Short Film Festival has enriched cultural life in Lower Bavaria and especially the event calendar of the city of Landshut, where the LAKFF is a cultural highlight of the year. The non-profit organization Dynamo Kurzfilm e.V. has created an institution that attracts thousands of visitors and friends of short film from Germany and abroad to our Lower Bavarian capital every year. For this extraordinary commitment, the association was awarded in 2021 the Culture Prize of the District of Lower Bavaria.

Artistic director Michael Orth and organizational director Birgit Horn and their colleagues have continued to develop the Landshut Short Film Festival every year. This year they have already counted 2500 film entries from 90 countries! After many months of preparatory work, a total of 224 films from 36 countries were selected for the competitions, which can now be seen at a total of 63 events over the seven days from March 18 to 24.

To mark the big anniversary, there will be a revival of the first short film festival in the Poschinger Villa youth center. The LAKFF proves every year that, despite its great success, its appeal lies above all in its family atmosphere. Landshut presents itself as a creative, open and innovative city where you can feel at home.

I warmly congratulate the organizers of the festival on its 25th anniversary and wish all spectators, filmmakers, film enthusiasts and the organizers every success, wonderful film experiences, enriching encounters and interesting conversations over these seven days.
