The Landshut Short Film Festival is turning 25 years old – that’s exciting, a little crazy, and almost unbelievable. This anniversary marks a quarter of a century of bold, innovative, and passionate short filmmaking from around the world. This year we are continuing in this tradition with 224 films from 36 countries in the competitions, including 17 world premieres and 80 German premieres.
Tonight, we kick off with a carefully curated selection of highlights from the programs, giving you a taste of what’s to come in the days ahead. Seven very different films that show how versatile and surprising short film can be:
A star-studded and modern fairytale (HEARTS OF STONE), a nocturnal fishing trip (THE LURE), an intimate and painful portrait of a social outsider (CHEZ JOANNE), a almost ordinary coffee date between friends (HAI LATTE), a sensitive drama about the search for queer identity (FEED YOUR HEAD), an unconventional love story (LIEBE MIT SUBSTANZ), and a rather unique musical for the whole family (À TOI LES OREILLES).
